Media Groups are small sections within three teams of Expressions Media. All media groups work together within their assigned team that they are part of. Every media project must consist of a group of at least four people for each approved project. If your project does not require four people, then you do not need to submit a new project proposal. Just send your finished media work to expressions@thevenusproject.com. Your project will not be listed in public as group project unless you are in need of additional support for your creative media project.

• Film Media - this media group’s focus is producing creative video productions for The Venus Project. This media group collaborates with all media groups within Venus Expressions Media. The primary focus is to create video presentations to present the ideas and solutions proposed by The Venus Project.

• Music Media - this media group’s focus is to produce musical expressions of the concepts of a Resourced-Based Economy. Examples can be: musicians producing new songs, dance groups, concerts, and music festivals, if funding allows for it. Music media also collaborates with Film Media and other media groups, or teams, outside Venus expressions that wishes to collaborate with the music group for a media project.

• Print Media - primary tasks are creation of creative illustrations through paintings, drawings, fliers, DVD covers, CD covers, etc. This media group collaborates with any another media group or team outside of Venus Expressions media that requires print media services.

• News Media - this media group produces video broadcast and commercials to cover latest news of The Venus Project. It consists of broadcasters, actors, editors from Quality Assurance Team, video editors, etc. . This media group collaborates with all teams within The Venus Project and all media groups within Venus Expressions Media.

Project Management Structure

Project Administrator:

• Manages and assists all projects and is the main point of contact for the media group that he or she is administrating.

• Administers meetings, keeps communication with artists and project managers within the media group.

• Writes up monthly progress reports of the media group and speaks of it verbally in the monthly Venus Expressions Media Team Meeting.

Project Managers:

• Manages one project that he or she launched or volunteered to help manage. Project Managers are responsible for completion of the project from start to finish.

• Expected to keep in communication with all artists that volunteered to assist on the project.

• Hold meetings if necessary, send out reports to a Project Admin, provide all tools, and resources needed for completion of the project.

• Project Admin must send monthly reports of progress of entire media group to VEM Coordinators

VEM Coordinators:

• Acts as point of contact for one of the three teams of Venus Expressions Media.

• Manages, advises and appoints, the Project Admin, Project Managers.

• Have steady communication with other team coordinators within the The Venus Project.

• Evaluates performance of Project Admin and Project Managers within the media groups.

• Holds monthly team meetings, special Project Admin or Project Manager meetings when needed.

• VEM Coordinators sends reports to VEM Administrators to update the site, twitter and Skype groups of latest media project, appointments.

VEM Administrators:

• Assistant to the VEM Coordinators; handles updates to the Venus Expressions Media site and moderation of VEM Pages, groups and discussion boards.

• Helps recruit and train needed Project Admin and advises all members of the team.

• May step in as coordinator if the main or co-coordinator needs to take a temporary leave.

New Media Projects Process

• For all those wanting to launch a project, all proposals must be emailed to: expressions@thevenusproject.com

• The Project Proposal must have outline, summary, name and email of at least 4 volunteers that are willing to help you with the project. You are the project manager for the Project until your project is finished or you appoint someone in your place to manage the Project if you are unable to at anytime.

• Once your project is approved, you must create your own project section within Venus Expressions Media Project Management system on Venus Expressions Media site

• The film media group will help you produce a quick introduction video for your project to help gain more buzz, interest, and new artists willing to help with your media project.
